Reaping and Sowing

Pray for a good harvest, but keep on plowing.

— Nancy Otto

Faith is an important part of all we do. Whether or not you believe in a higher power, your efforts are directed by your belief in a bigger and better outcome.

If you do believe in a higher power, you can seek to have faith that divine providence will help guide you in your efforts each and every day. This is not an act of resignation. This is not handing your life over to god and expecting that god will do all the work for you. Rather it is asking god to direct you and help you make the most of your life.

When we approach our challenges with this kind of faith — and then continue to work — god can help us achieve more than we ever thought possible. He can help us move mountains and he can help us change hearts. But we must keep plowing if we want to reap the rewards.

In what areas of your life are you longing for more help from god? How can you ask for that help more sincerely and directly in your prayers? How can you better work in those areas, so that god can perform miracles through you?
