Magic Dust

Kindness is free. Sprinkle that stuff everywhere.

Very often, in our daily life, we find ourselves dealing with transactional situations. A transactional situation is one where we do one thing in exchange for another thing. We go to work and exchange our time for money. We go to the store and exchange our money for goods and services. This transactional mindset helps to simplify many of the relationships we have in society, but it can also begin to limit our perspective.

If we start to view everything in our life as transactions, we can gradually lose the ability to see opportunities for transformational experiences. In transactional relationships we exchange or trade one thing for another thing. In transformational relationships, we bring our personal talents and abilities and use them to make things much better for everyone. When we seek out transformational opportunities and experiences we can lift those around us and simultaneously left ourselves. We can make the world a better place.

One of the easiest ways we can bring transformation to the world is by sharing kindness with those around us. Kindness is such a simple thing. A encouraging word, a warm smile, a helping hand — these are all the building blocks of kindness — and the more of these things we bring into the world, the happier place our world will become.

The true miracle of kindness is that it is something within everyone’s power to share. It doesn’t cost money, doesn’t require us to know the people we share it with, takes very little effort or time and can be shared wherever you may find yourself. So look for chances to spread kindness. Then spread it everywhere you go.

Think of a time when someone was kind to you. How did it change your day? What about it made such an impression that you still remember it today? How could you have a similar effect in the lives of others?
