Making the Best of the Inevitable

Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.

— John Maxwell

One of the few things we can all count on in life is that it will involve change.

Everything in life changes. Seasons, health, employment, finances, expectations, perception, understanding, expectations and much much more, will all change.

Change can be hard and can arrive unexpectedly. When we encounter change, it is common to feel fear, frustration, worry, sadness and a variety of other emotions. Change can also provide us with enormous opportunities to grow.

Changes in your life will make you question your assumptions. Change will push you out of your comfort zone. Being outside of your comfort zone allows you to gain new perspective and gain new experiences.

But being outside of your comfort zone does not guarantee you will learn and grow.

When change comes and your are pushed out of your comfort zone, most people complain, panic, or wish that things would return back to normal. If we are to grow through our trials, we need to look for the learning opportunities that come with change.

If change is going to be a constant in our lives, we may as well use the changes we experience to grow.

How have you experienced growth when your life has changed? What changes in your life today can you grow through?
