The Grass is Not Greener On the Other Side of the Fence

Don’t look for the next opportunity. The one you have in hand is the opportunity.

— Paul Arden

How often do you find yourself wishing that things in your life were different? If you do, you are not alone. Most people feel this way at one time or another.

In our always connected, social media heavy world, we constantly see the highlights from others. When we see this constant parade of the best parts of other people’s lives, it can leave us wondering why our lives feel so normal of boring. We can wish we had the opportunities that we think others have constantly before them.

The picture we often see of other people’s lives on social media and in our limited interactions with them is often very incomplete. Just as most others don’t know about all the challenges in your life, you usually don’t know all the challenges in the hearts and lives of others.

The challenge for each of us is to recognize the opportunities for growth and success in every situation that we encounter. No matter what challenges you face, there are ways you can grow, learn and make life better. Our responsibility is to find the opportunity in the challenges and then reach out and take advantage of it. When we do that we can find success and happiness.

What challenges in your life are really opportunities in disguise? How can you take advantage of the opportunity?
